Sylvester is a seasoned professional in the non-profit sector having worked and/or consulted for non-profits such as the TUT HIV Institutional Programme, Soul City Institute for Social Justice, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator, The South African Board for People Practices and Seriti Institute.

His core work has been focused on the design, management and leadership for the transitioning of unemployed youth into multiple pathways in both the formal and non-formal economy. Sylvester is passionate about the education sector both as a contributor to academia and a practitioner within the broader education community. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and brings to the board valuable expertise in strategic areas of focus for the board such as fundraising, risk management, organisational development, collaborative partnerships and stakeholder management.

Sylvester currently sits on the board of the Johannesburg Inner City Partnership (JICP) and is a member of the Institute of Directors and a registered human resource professional with the SABPP.
