Mangweni CSI was founded by Nokuthula Zwane in September of 2018. A pilot of Mangweni CSI programs as highlighted below was conducted in the community of Diepsloot, North of Johannesburg during 2019.
Active Stars
This is the flagship program of Mangweni CSI designed for children aged seven to 12 years. Coaches support teachers to develop an inclusive physical education curriculum utilizing age-appropriate football and running activities to encourage teamwork and maximum participation.
Reading Stars
This is the second of Mangweni CSI programs. It focusses on English reading targeting children in the ages of seven to 12 years to help them stay motivated to read. Coaches support teachers by working with smaller groups of children using phonics method of learning. They integrate phonics literary resources with running, jumping, throwing and kicking activities to encourage maximum participation from children.
Star Power
This is the third program of Mangweni CSI designed for female coaches who work alongside educators in schools to deliver Active Stars and Reading Stars. These coaches are required to have an NQF level 4 Certificate in Sport Administration. Mangweni CSI employs them on a year-long renewable contract and identifies mentorship opportunities with client partners to provide these coaches with linkages that create pathways for employability, the aim of Star Power.
Employee Engagement
This is an important pillar of our work that we integrate with the three programs. We do this to deeply connect businesses and their employees to communities putting the learner at the centre of future human prosperity.
