NASCEE recently asked NPOs in education to review and agree on a national compact that proposes principles of the collaboration between education non-profit organisations (NPOs) and our many counterparts within the South African education ecosystem during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NASCEE National Compact on the principles of collaboration during the COVID-19 pandemic was shared with more than 2800 stakeholders and their partners. The final version is now being actioned through the NASCEE network and many others.

Our priorities for the next few days are:

  • Working with RMB to see if an instance of the Edvision platform can be utilized to geomap and provide information on COVID-19 preventative measures being undertaken by NPOs working in education - contact sibongile@thelearningtrust.org for more information
  • Developing a one-pager on the guidelines for unrestricted grants - we plan to work with IPASA and other key bodies, like Trialogue, in this process - contact rooksana@jet.org.za
  • Running a bootcamp for researchers to influence plans and decisions related to COVID-19 during this time (via JET) - contact charlene@jet.org.za
  • Coordinating the curation of the many online resources being made available - contact benson@casme.org.za
  • We also take note that there is much to do in the school nutrition front, and would like to call for a volunteer to help coordinate this? Contact us at info@nascee.org.za
