Ntombizonke Ngidi is an education and community activist from Kwa Langa, Cape Town, with over 12 years of experience in education and training. Her journey, shaped by the realities of growing up in a disadvantaged community, has been guided by a deep commitment to leadership, social justice, and youth empowerment.
She began her career as an educator, later founding the 6th LEAP Science and Maths School in Ga-Rankuwa. She went on to lead teacher development at the Global Teachers Institute and served as Director of Education and Community Programmes at the African Community Fund for Education.
Currently, as the Director of the LEAP Institute, Zonke focuses on expanding the impact of LEAP Schools through community-based education initiatives. In 2016, she was recognised by the Mail & Guardian as one of South Africa’s Top 200 Young People for her contribution to education and community development.
