Mapping South Africa’s Education Ecosystem
The National Education Directory (NED) is a NASCEE initiative designed to strengthen collaboration across South Africa’s education sector by mapping the work of organisations driving change in education.
Through an interactive, public directory, NED showcases who is doing what, where, and with whom - across all provinces, districts, and focus areas. By making this information visible, NED helps government, funders, and civil society identify opportunities for alignment, partnership, and collective impact.
Every organisation that contributes to NED helps build a clearer picture of the sector’s reach and diversity. Together, we’re transforming data into insight and insight into action for South Africa’s learners.
Who’s on the NED?
Education-focused organisations of all sizes - NGOs, NPOs, funders, networks, social enterprises, and partners working in schools, districts, and communities across South Africa. From large national networks to small grassroots organisations, NED brings together everyone working to make education in South Africa stronger.
If you’re helping improve education, you belong on the map. By joining the directory, your organisation becomes part of a collective effort to share knowledge, align action, and drive greater impact for learners.
You do not need to be a NASCEE member to be on the NED.
Why be on the NED?
By joining the NED, your organisation will:
- Be showcased for your contribution to improving education
- Be visible to partners, funders, and stakeholders looking to collaborate
- Be represented in South Africa’s collective education story
