ORT South Africa is an accredited, award winning non-profit education and training organisation affiliated to World ORT which was established in 1880.

ORT SA is a multi-faceted, proactive and reputable organisation. It thrives on developing teachers, youth, businesses and communities, by improving the standard of education.

ORT SA mission of making people employable is conducted via the ORT SA Academies which include the STEM Academy, Skills and Enterprise Academy and an IT Academy with emphasis on the 21st Century Skills and has touched tens of thousands of South Africans.

ORT SA is driven by its mission, “Making People Employable and Creating Employment Opportunities” through state of the art STEM and entrepreneurship training and mentoring.

The ORT SA STEM Academy is working with schools, on STEM education, IT, coding and leadership training. If we want to equip the generation of today with the skills of tomorrow, we need to start as early as possible.

The ORT Skills and Enterprise Academy offers post- schooling programmes in IT, Skills development and Entrepreneurship with the understanding that to become employable one needs the skills, life-skills but also work experience. This is why we partnered with the YES Campaign as well as our learnerships, offered with different SETAs.

Small businesses are a vital pillar on which the country’s economy relies, and ORT Jet has assisted thousands of businesses, so far with providing the tools and support to entrepreneurs and small business to become financial sustainable.

The ORT SA Eric and Sheila Samson IT Academy was established to bridge the digital divide of knowledge, skills and awareness towards IT career options. Becoming a Cisco Academy, we have equipped hundreds of unemployed youth with IT tools and skills.

Our newly-created Career Hub exposes people and youth to career options and to what the “jobs of the future” are all about, to let them explore their strengths, passion and career paths as well as providing experience and skills transfer to make sure they are ready and equipped for the workplace.
