The National Association of Social Change Entities in Education (NASCEE), in partnership with the Independent Philanthropy Association South Africa (IPASA), hosted the Collaboration in Action webinar series from 26 March to 30 April 2026. The series explored how strategic collaboration can strengthen education outcomes across South Africa through shared learning, partnership building, and systems-level change.
Based on IPASA’s Basic Education Collaboration case studies compiled by Dr Tara Polzer Ngwato, the series brought together funders, NGOs, government representatives, and education practitioners to share practical insights and lessons from collaborative initiatives shaping the education sector.
The three-part series featured:
- The Mpumalanga Grade R Capacity Building (MP-R) Programme
- The Fundisa for Change Keep it Cool 2 (KIC2) Project
- JET Education Services collaborative case studies
Through keynote presentations, expert panel discussions, and audience engagement, participants explored themes including systems change, trust-based partnerships, shared measurement, climate change education, stakeholder alignment, governance, and the long-term value of collaboration.
The series reinforced the importance of intentional partnerships in addressing fragmentation within the education sector and highlighted how collaboration can strengthen sustainability, innovation, and collective impact across South Africa’s education landscape.
